Columbus Ohio Attorneys File Suit Against CEVA Freight / Transportation for Payroll Violations

Gentzler, et al., v. CEVA Transport Inc. (2009):

CEVA Freight LLC (also knows and CEVA Logistics and CEVA Freight) is an international shipping management company. CEVA operated a hub near the Rickenbacker Air Facility in Columbus, Ohio and employed hundreds of people in functions related to receiving and loading of cargo, dispatching and tracking of transportation and coordination of cargo movement and shipments to customers, throughout the United States.

Stein Chapin & Associates has commenced a lawsuit alleging that CEVA maintained a policies concerning employee pay that were in violation of Federal and State laws. It is alleged that CEVA required its employees to work in excess of 40 hours per week on a regular basis. CEVA is alleged to have purposefully refused to pay minimum wage and overtime compensation to these employees and has failed to accurately account for the time worked by these employees.

Federal and State law both require that persons be paid for all hours worked and that they be paid additional compensation for time worked in excess of 40 hours per week. Violation of these laws may give rise to court orders for back pay compensation, liquidated damages, interest, attorneys' fees and other costs.

Stein Chapin has filed suit on behalf of a number of former employees of CEVA. These employees are seeking to be certified as a class of all affected employees through a "Collective Action". This means that the suit is filed on behalf of these former employees and others who are similarly situated.
